Jeannene Tedesco Head Neo-Natal Nurse

Some people spend a lifetime searching for their true calling in life. However, Jeannene Tedesco knew that she wanted to be a nurse from the time she was a little girl. She not only knew that she wanted to be a nurse, she knew specifically that she wanted to take care of babies.

Her parents, as well as her brother and sister, can attest to Jeannene's natural ability to nurture and care for people, as well as animals. Jeannene's family and pets were often her pretend patients who were forced to endure the constant bandaging, taking "pills," and taking temperatures. Hardly anyone who came to the house or lived in the neighborhood could escape Jeannene's medical treatments. Jeannene even had a make believe triage set up in her bedroom where her dolls and stuffed animals were under her constant care.

This need to care for others never left Nancy. She volunteered throughout high school as a candy striper at the local hospital. Her favorite job was working in the nursery to help the nurses bathe and feed the babies. With the neo-natal unit close by, she often witnessed the tiniest of babies being wheeled in, and the stress and worry on the parents of these babies. This heart wrenching experience set her on a determined path to become a neo-natal nurse; she knew deep down that this was her true calling.

With her path set, she researched many colleges to find just the right program that could train her to become a top notch neo-natal nurse. She entered a specialized five year nursing program that fully prepared her to enter this field. Jeannene was recognized as the top student in her class and, even before she graduated, was offered a job in the hospital in which she did her practicum.

Jeannene still works for this hospital and is known for her caring attitude and ability to handle the constant high stress situations involved with neo-natal babies. The parents of these babies appreciate as well as cherish the kindness and loving care that Jeannene and her team of nurses offer. Their minds are eased somewhat by knowing that their fragile babies are in the best of care. Jeannene goes above the call of duty to ensure that the parents are well informed and involved in the care of their babies.

Jeannene is now the head nurse of the neo-natal care unit. She also teaches in the nursing program that she attended. From a little girl to a grown woman, her desire to be a nurse and to care for babies has never wavered
